Well Central's Core Functions
Recognized as a place to discover the capacity within oneself and opportunities for personal growth and development, Well Central is built around four key functions that each address a critical area in achieving mental health and recovery. Where Am I At? What Do I Need? Who Can Support Me? How Can I Move Forward?
Programs offered: Well-being Course-The Well-being Course will help support you in understanding yourself better and help you make positive changes in your life. It can also connect you to valuable resources and others on the same journey that will provide you with the support you need and deserve to succeed. Recovery 101 - Recovery101 is designed to support your journey in re-defining and re-establishing your life amidst mental health challenges. Co-produced by professionals and individuals with lived experience of mental illness, this course presents relevant information and practical strategies from various perspectives. Overcoming Loneliness and Isolation - While loneliness and isolation are common experiences, learning about these experiences can give you a much better understanding on the impact they have and what can be done to reduce the negative effects on your life. This course will provide insights, perspectives, ideas, and concrete strategies to manage and overcome feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Developing self Compassion - It’s easy to be kind to others we care about but it can be challenging to be kind to ourselves. Many people think that criticizing ourselves helps us to do better, but it often brings shame and guilt instead. This course will help you understand the role of self-compassion and its benefits, and will help you develop a habit of being kind to yourself.
