One-to-One Peer Support
Connect one-to-one with someone who understands. Hope for Mental Health’s One-to-One Peer Support program connects individuals with trained Peer Support Workers. Support can be provided virtually or in the community, with community-based support subject to Peer Support Worker availability. The program supports people living with mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, psychotic disorders, and bipolar disorder.
Support grounded in lived experience
Peer support is built on mutual understanding, shared experience, and respect. Participants are matched with trained Peer Support Workers who provide encouragement, practical support, and a space to talk openly about recovery.
Referrals may come from healthcare professionals, family members, or individuals themselves. Support is provided at no cost.
Connection through shared experience
Peer support brings together people who share similar experiences and can relate to one another in ways grounded in empathy, understanding, and hope. Peer Support Workers draw on their own lived experience while supporting participants in identifying strengths, building confidence, and working toward personal recovery goals.
Peer support is not counselling or clinical treatment. It complements other supports by creating space for connection, encouragement, and practical recovery-focused conversations.
